What is Biometrics

Biometrics is an advanced technique, based on sophisticated digital systems, allows the recognition of individuals through their personal and transferable features. These characteristics can be physical (fingerprint) or behavioral (signature).

How it works?

All biometric systems have a similar mode of operation:

1. The system collects a sample of the biometric feature

4. The user interacts with the new biometric system to verify their identity. A new sample is taken and compared with the template and it is the test:
a) If the template and the new sample match, access is granted to the user.

This is the basic premise of biometrics: the system has a data sample of a registered person. When the person tries to access the system, this provides you access if the data presented match the stored.

Identification and verification are the same thing?
